Dispute Pre-Filing Assessment Service

OVERVIEW

CRG provides a cost-effective way of driving up the succesful resolution of disputes bound for arbitration.

This means optimized dispute resolution for both issuers and acquirers: reduce the fees incurred pursuing weak cases, and higher win rates for disputes you do decide to pursue.

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

WHAT IS THE SERVICE?

Dispute Pre-filing Recommendations are relevant at any state of the process, before you file a dispute or response.

Our CRG experts will review details of specific disputes, and the evidence you have collected, to determine the strength of your current case. We will also highlight exactly the evidence required to confidently pursue the case.

This allows you to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with (or write off) a dispute, and minimizes resolution costs.

WHAT IS THE VALUE?

Losing in arbitration is very costly, as the losing party absorbs both the transaction loss and network fees ($500+), plus there are fees incurred just for filing your arbitration incorrectly.

But if you have a greater probability of winning, not only will you reduce losses from fees, but can confidently proceed to arbitration with smaller-sized disputes.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

Acquirers and their Merchants

There are 2 core use cases for Acquirers/Merchants:

  1. To evaluate the validity of the issuer’s dispute (Visa) or chargeback (Mastercard) and determine whether to proceed with either a dispute response or pre-arbitration (Visa) or a second presentment (Mastercard).

  2. To evaluate whether to accept the issuer’s pre-arbitration

Issuers and their Cardholders

There are 3 core use cases:

  1. To determine what dispute condition code (Visa)/chargeback reason code (Mastercard) to apply to a given dispute

  2. To evaluate the acquirer’s dispute response (Visa) or second presentment (Mastercard) to determine whether to proceed with a pre-arbitration or direct arbitration filing (Mastercard).

  3. To evaluate the acquirer’s pre-arbitration attempt (Visa) and determine whether to proceed with a negative pre-arbitration response

Additionally, we can provide advice on lost cases, on why they were lost, and how they could be won.
